About Me

I'm an educator in Austin.  I work with students who have chemical addictions and all the problems that go with that.  Politically I support personal responsibility for almost all problems.  We seem to have lost track of that recently.  I watch my students blame all their problems on someone else and then continue to do the same things that got them in trouble in the first place and that has moved me further and further down the personal responsibility road.  One of the tenets of my work is that no one changes unless they hurt.  You can't talk someone into changing.  You can't argue them into changing.  You can't bribe them into changing.  They'll change when what they are doing hurts enough for them to change.  Yeah, I know...seems anathema to how everyone else seems to view things.  Oh, well.  I've been running against the grain all my life.  Guess it hasn't hurt enough Cool.
