Of course not.  Republicans, for the most part, believe in the constitution which guarantees freedom of religion.  It is the islamic religion that doesn't believe in freedom of religion and, in fact, believes that those of other faiths deserve to die because they aren't really people.  I hope I have helped you understand this and relieved you of your confusion.

In addition, are you familiar with ANY buddhist politicians?  I can't think of any, myself.  I believe the problem is with the politicians.  They will be whatever they need to be (whores, vultures, maggots or leaches) to get your vote and stay in office where they don't have to put up with stupid things we have to put up with like having to budget our money, working long hours so we have enough money and having to pay for everything we do instead of having taxpayers fund our vacations and holidays.  I'm pretty non-partisan about this.  I think they all suck, but it is nice to know who not to trust.  If they are in office, don't leave your children or pets with them because they are definitely scum.
