New/Old phone scams

People are called by what the caller says is a representative of their phone companies phone lines they use and told if they do not pay a new fee that is now required they will cut off their phone service

The person calling of course has the broken English African accent and the customer usually does not believe them at first then they are told they can prove it for them to hang up and they will cut off their service so that when they hang up and pick the phone up again they have no dial tone so it seems real to them

People that believe they are telling the truth then give out their credit card numbers thinking they are dealing with something legitimate and they have to pay to keep their phone service

Later they find their entire bank account cleaned out

How the scam works?

When you hang up on a caller but they do not and put their phone on mute you will not be able to make a call until that caller hangs up their phone nor will you hear any dial tone or anything when you try to call out for about 5-10 minutes I believe until it auto disconnects that call

Do not fall for this scam and instead tell the caller they have reached a FBI branch office and they are tracing the call right now and will be showing up at his door fairly fast now that the trace is completed

Makes it kind of fun to turn the scam around on the scammer and scare the day lights out of them

They will usually hang their phone up just as soon as you say FBI anyway LOL

Right now most of it is happening over seas in England but I did get one of those calls once many years ago

I just laughed and told him it was funny how he reached an FBI branch office like that and how we have already traced his call and we will be there to help him with his problems in just a little bit

All I heard was “click” then a dial tone shortly after that LOL

I cannot even imagine why someone would give out their credit card number to someone over the phone they have never met in their entire life then wonder why they got their bank account cleaned out also.

Statistics show it happens on a daily basis and it all comes from some kind of confidence scam where they believe they have to do that in order to keep a service of some kind and in some cases thinking if they do they stand to make a bunch of money doing that.

Once I was chatting with a real pretty looking girl online with the web cam and all and told her, “Only a total moron would ever fall for one of those African money order scams”

She snapped back, “So you think I’m a total moron??? I got ripped off for $4,000 in one of those scams”!!!!

Had to reply, Oh well, I guess that does make you a total moron at the time that happened but I’m sure your much wiser now right”?

Did not hear much from her any more so who knows LOL

If it all sounds to good to be true or sounds a little fishy just ask yourself a few questions such as

If I had 55 million dollars hidden in a mattress would I really need anyone else’s help to spend that money?

If someone is calling me on the phone telling me about some new giant fee to stay connected why did I never hear about that in any news stories?

If someone has a $4,000 cashiers check and they want me to take it and give them the change back for the $2,000 item I’m selling on line why then can they not just cash that check at any bank USA and just pay me in cash instead?

If someone wants me to ship an item I’m selling in an on line garage sale so they can take a look at it before they buy it how come they could not read the part on my site that says cash only and must view the item in person at my house before any purchase or sale is allowed?

I have to ask myself how anyone could ever fall for any one of those scams everyday

All I can seem to come up with is they must be total morons with no clue what so ever.
