EMBRACE PET INSURANCE: What You Need To Know

There are many "pluses" and very few "minuses" with Embrace Pet Insurance.  The company offers a wide variety of useful services - wellness, alternative, chronic conditions, drug therapy, ad more - but the key feature is the Customizable Coverage plan, meaning you chose what you want and basically pay. In addition, if you have any questions, give their reps a call; they're helpful and friendly and consistently receive 9 out of 10 stars in customer service.

WHAT EMBRACE PET INSURANCE COVERS AND EXCLUDES:

Covers: Basic vet visits, shots, spaying/neutering, genetic conditions cancer diagnosis and treatment, select curable chronic and pre-existing conditions, specialist visits, ER visits Does Not Cover: Breeding, pregnancy, costs related to death (burial, cremation), incurable pre-existing conditions, cosmetic surgery, prosthetic limbs, organ transplants Embrace Pet Insurance allows you to choose which vet you want to visit, and if you're vacationing with your pet in Mexico or Canada, your pet's insured.  The company only insures dogs and cats at this time.

POLICIES:

There are three types of pet insurance plans, so basically there’s something for everyone:

1. Full Coverage: Breed-specific maladies (except incurable preexisting ones), accidents, testing, surgery, hospital stays, alternative treatments, cancer, and more; applies to: purebred dogs under the age of six and mixed breed dogs under the age of eight, purebred cats under the age of eight and mixed breed cats under the age of 10.

2. Accident Coverage: This plan covers pets that cannot get Full Coverage, which are purebred dogs older than 7 and mixed breeds older than 9, along with purebred cats older than 9 and mixed breed cats older than 11.

3. Customizable Coverage: You choose what your costs are from annual maximum, annual deductible, co-pay, and different types of plans, including Wellness and Dental policies.

In addition, Embrace Pet Insurance offers a Rewards Plan, where you get $200 to do with whatever you want with no co-pay or deductible, including: spaying/neutering, flea/tick/heartworm medication, dental cleaning, vaccinations, and routine procedures.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

Obviously with the Customizable Plan, you choose what you pay for but in terms of the Full Coverage Plan, you're reimbursed 80 percent of your vet bills, have a $10,000 yearly limit, and your deductible is $200.  With the Accident Coverage Plan, you are reimbursed 90 percent of your vet bill and $5,000 annually, and your deductible is $100.  Embrace Pet Insurance also offers discounts, such as 5% off your total yearly amount if your pet is neutered/spayed, has a microchip, if you pay your entire deductible up front, and if you're insuring more than 2 animals.  In addition, you can get your full premium back if you're unhappy with your coverage - just make sure to do it within 30 days of signing up with Embrace Pet Insurance.
