Cooler, Wetter Weather Coming
Fall begins on Tuesday and it looks like we are in for a strong early season cold front that day! The front is forecast to arrive in Austin Tuesday morning with a good chance of showers and thunderstorms. By the afternoon, it looks like temperatures will hold in the 70s with cloudy skies and a few showers.
Cooler air will continue to filter into the area from the north for Wednesday and Thursday, but the front will stall to our east. At the same time, a strong upper low will stall over the Texas Panhandle pulling in lots of moisture from the Pacific and across Texas. This will mean a cloudy setup with occasional showers through midweek.
With the cool air in place and a lack of sun, look for highs both Wednesday and Thursday to be in the 70s, with lows in the 60s.
The Panhandle low will begin lifting northeast and away from Texas Friday into Saturday. Drier air and more sun are expected for next weekend, with highs in the 80s and 90s returning.
Enjoy the taste of fall this week!
