Cold Christmas?

As one winter storm departs the Northeast, another one is developing over the Pacific Northwest. We will be ahead of this storm through Wednesday... with warm temperatures and even a few showers Tuesday and Wednesday. By Wednesday, the Pacific Northwest storm will be entering the Southern Plains states... and behind it... some Arctic air! This Arctic front will reach Central Texas sometime late on Wednesday and will deliver one of several waves of very cold air to Texas.

Temperatures look to be falling out of the 50s and into the 40s on Christmas Eve... then stay in 40s for highs Christmas Day through Sunday. Overnight lows will plunge into the 20s Christmas morning through Sunday morning.

The good news is that it appears to be dry while all the cold air is around us. Parts of the Panhandle and east into Oklahoma  may see some snow Wednesday into Christmas Eve... but that looks like the closest any wintry precipatation will get to us.

Another dose of wintry precip is expected Wednesday through Saturday from the Texas Panhandle to the Mid-Atlantic states northward to the US/Canadian border! If you are heading into this area during the Christmas holiday... keep up to date with the latest forecasts!

Back here at home... prepare for much colder weather beginning Christams Eve... then lasting through the following weekend!
