AMERICAN IDOL FINALE DETAILS

Here's a bunch of rumors/ facts I have heard regarding tonight's American Idol finale:

There will be performances from Rod Stewart, Steve Martin, Cyndi Lauper, Queen Latifah, Black Eyed Peas, Lionel Richie, Carlos Santana, David Cook, Jason Mraz and Keith Urban.

On this morning's Idol Chat, I was the only one that even knew Steve Martin plays and instrument and sings. KING TUT! "How'd you get so funky? Did you do the monkey?"

Idol duets will feature Allison Iraheta with Cyndi Lauper, Kris Allen with Keith Urban, Danny Gokey with Lionel Richie and Carlos Santana will perform with the Top 13.  Rumor has it, Adam Lambert will perform with a rock band - though I can't find details on which one. But I am guessing KISS due to all the references to his tongue screams.

Santana’s “Smooth” and Pink’s “So What” will also be featured.

David Cook is set to perform the heart-wrenching “Permanent” as a tribute to his late brother Adam.  Sales from the single will fund David’s cancer charity.

Obviously, the top 13 will be performing and, Paula Abdul says Tatiana Del Toro will appear. According to her Twitter page, Austin's Kendall Beard is there - though I am guessing she is just one of many audience members.

Here's my favorite bit of Idol news today:

Nigel Lythgoe is NOT a fan of “No Boundaries”: “I didn”t like the final song that both guys had to sing. In truth their first songs were their best “Mad World” and ‘Ain’t No Sunshine.’” and “There are going to be some great guests tonight and I think it’s a close competition. The only downside is hearing the winner’s song again.”  As a side note, he says next year, SYTYCD will be moving to the fall permanently…MJ's Big Blog apparently got this tid bit from Twitter.

And, on a side note, did ya'll hear about Terri Seymour's attack.

Former Simon Cowell squeeze and Extra correspondent Terri Seymour was attacked outside the Nokia Theatre last night, apparently targeted because of her association with the Idol judge, police tell E! News.

According to a spokesman for the Los Angeles Police Department, officers on hand for crowd control witnessed the incident, which took place around 7 p.m. As Seymour was leaving the venue, she was approached by 33-year-old Janice Thibodeaux, who asked if Seymour was Simon's ex.

After Seymour answered in the affirmative, police say Thibodeaux attacked Seymour, grabbing her neck and attempting to choke her.
